I have dressed teams of girls in unicorn costumes, raced shopping carts through Brooklyn dressed as Wonder Woman, and danced on boats made of junk on the East River. I photograph these happenings and this is the place where you can see what I’m up to.
I’m an artist who works mostly with photography, but have been known to work with performance, installation, and video as well. I live in New York City and received my MFA from the International Center of Photography-Bard Program in Advanced Photographic Studies and my BA in Art History from Barnard College. I recently completed a residency with the Camera Club of New York and I was an artist-in-residence in the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Workspace program during the 2008-2009 year as well as a Visiting Scholar at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. I have performed at Location One, Deitch Projects and 3rd Ward, as well as the several underground events and venues that have provided the inspiration for my work. In 2007 I was featured in PDN’s photo annual as emerging talent. I am a trained opera singer (though out of practice), avid biker, and unofficial social organizer for many of my friends and aquaintances…not bad, eh?
Some of my commercial clients include The New Yorker, American Craft Magazine, Trace Magazine, and the Museum of Modern Art and my personal work has been featured in the New York Times Magazine.
